The videos on this page have been shared with kind permission from Lynne Cooper, whose father – Captain George Herbert Salter – worked for Ellerman in the 1960s and 70s.
Throughout this period, Captain Salter took footage of various vessels during his travels across the world. His videos capture an important era in the history of shipping at a time when logistics were moving away from traditional methods and toward containerisation.
